Lunch- mid-70's today but very humid. 14 people showed up, though the teams were not evenly split (I'd say the other team had 1.5 more fast guys, and then the other team had their slowest player get injured and leave, so we had to start subbing out people, which really skewed it when one of our few fast guys were out). I would have been surprised if we won.

I played really well, though- my throws were generally on-target, including a bunch of long ones early, I had some good catches with no drops (several ankle height catches), and good defense. Game was tied 1-1 before the other team scored 3 straight. My team scored 2 more to make it a bit competitive before losing 3-5. We just didn't have the speed so there were some big mismatches. I was able to trash talk Dennis, who I covered all day, as I scored several and he never did, plus I caught a long bomb over him with some great boxout technique. Plus when I was subbed out, Dennis absolutely rocked my team (at one point intercepting 3 passes on the same point), but I shut him down when I returned. He and I have a friendly rivalry going for a while now- I won the individual battle today, but his team won the game.

Fun day.

AM 7 slow miles (8:30-9:15 pace). Saw 11 turkey, 10 deer, a half dozen spider webs in the face, plus as I was finishing up a fox ran across the trail about 30 yards in front of me, then stopped to look at me. That was cool

Lunch- cloudy but warm and humid. 13 people but Scott left as he was feeling sick. My team was struggling during the warm up with some bad throws, and a few guys with lots of drops (the other team had drops, too). In the game to 5, we were up 4-3 but stalled 3 or 4 times near the endzone with drops or forced throws (a few by me) and ended up losing 5-4. We should have won this one. Sam was on my team and doesn't think he's won a game in a month.

Hurricane Florence has shifted and is now projected to pass right over us. I'm looking forward to some hurricane frisbee games on Friday and Monday.

Lunch- frisbee 19 people, so 2 fields. Somewhat windy due to coming hurricane. For first game, my team had better throwers but the other team definitely had more speed, and that was before their slowest person and one of our fastest guys left. The 3 other guys on my team were all outmatched on speed. We were down 4-2 but then really cracked down on unforced errors while the other team had some bad throws. We somehow came back for 5-4 win. Tiring.

The other field had someone sprain the ankle right at the end. Between the heat and long games (due to wind), no one wanted to play another game.
