I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos!   And I have the absolute best wife in the world.  And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!

Lunch- wanted to run, but yesterday was the first day my knee started feeling a bit better, so I didn't want to immediately aggravate it again. Did some XT instead. Might run tomorrow.

PM- Time for the annual Moonshiner 5k, a night 5k on trails, which makes it a very unique and fun race (plus they give $200+ swag to the winner). I won the past 2 years in 18:45 and 17:58. I wasn't too sure how it would go this year on account of only running 3 days out of the past 9, plus my injury, but I would go try. Warmed up 4 or so miles, said Hi to a few friends, then waited while the ranger tried to clear a new downfall tree on the trail at the .5 mile mark (he never got it off). The thunderstorms that threatened to cancel the race ended just in time but the trails were all muddy, which I love.  We started and I led from the gun, except when someone passed me right at the tree, leaving me in 2nd for half a mile. Passed him back and got a bit of a gap on the small road section (I could tell I was working as hard as I could as my hands and arms were going tingly), then steadily pulled away on the downhill trail. The headlights were close enough that I had to keep pushing, but I ended up winning by 24 seconds. Half Moon Outfitters always does a great job, and running this race is a fun tradition. Cooled down with the Honnette's and Brandon Arquette, an ex-GE guy who finished 2nd. Saw a huge frog on the trail, too.

Knee felt ok. We'll see how it is tomorrow.
