I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos!   And I have the absolute best wife in the world.  And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!

AM- Legs are a lot less sore than I thought they would be, except when foam rolling.  As part of Barkley, I hopped on a stairmaster for 45 min, then ran 6 miles.  Feels strange to run after stairs.

Lunch- 8 more ez.  Definitely feel better than usual after a hard marathon, so that's a good sign.  My quads are still amazingly bombproof.  Still have to go easy to not risk injury, though.

PM- Had to take my parents to the airport this morning, so no run.  Did make the Paris Mtn run for the first time in a month with Justin, Seth, Josh, and Barry.  13.5 miles on a chilly, foggy night after a long day of rainstorms.  It's somewhat mystical and eerie running through fog at night, very quiet.  We practically had the whole place to ourselves- only saw 4 people.  2:20, 1600 ft climb.

AM- 6 running plus 30 min stair climber.  Legs are still definitely recovering from the marathon.

Lunch- 10 with Jim and Dan.  Pretty nice day to run out, as opposed to the last 2 days when it was very cold and rainy (2 inches of rain in 2 days).

Am- 11 Lunch- 8 more with the guys. Combine insufficient sleep with my highest mileage of the year, and I'm feeling downright worn out. Blah. Heck 2 of the past 3 days i didnt get home in the evenings until 9 pm. But taper for Chuckanut 50k starts next week, and that will lead into the Barkley, where I have moved up from 13 on the wait list to 3. At this point, I'm assuming I'll get in it.

I ran 378 miles in Feb.  If it had 30 or 31 days, it would have been in the 400's, which I've only done a few times.

AM- First time my legs haven't felt sluggish all week, so I did a little workout.  3 miles warmup, 7 miles MP in 42:30 or so, then 1 cooldown.

Lunch- an hour plus BUBW

Ultrarunning magazine just came out with the 2012 Year In Review.  I heard I was in it, so asked Crockett to email me a page (thanks, Davy).  Sure enough, there I was on the Top 100-mile times.  Number 22 in the country.  Pretty cool.  I still think I have a 14:30 in me, although I don't think I'll ever run a fast 100 again.

PM- Today is my lovely wife's 30th birthday.  We woke early and drove the Columbia so she could attend the temple, then drove home and opened presents.  I snuck in a quick 8.5 mile run here.  Then went to dinner and came home to a surprise birthday party, where 10 of her girlfriends kidnapped her for a night of partying.  I've just got the kids in bed and plan to hit the sack soon as I'm very tired and definitely getting sick with a sore throat, stuffy, etc.
