AM 8 miles on GE trail. Spiders seem to be gone for the year. 17 deer (most ever?) and 10 turkeys right at the end. Slow, 8:30-9:30 ish.

Lunch- it was rainy but warm (65F), and five brave/hearty/crazy people joined me for frisbee. We were very happy to get enough for a game. Scott, Dave and me vs Sam, Alex, Ty. It was a fun time with the rain going hard to soft and with some wind. A fair number of drops, partly due to the wet disc, and it makes throwing interesting, too. For the game to 5, the other team scored first and we traded points till 2-2, when my team finally broke the other team and scored into the wind. Then the other team scored into the wind, 3-3. There were some long points in here, with the wind and only 2 catchers. Then my team scored, forced a turnover in their endzone, and I ran solo (everyone else was tired) while Scott tossed a bomb to me. I was trying to track the disc over my head and stumbled twice in some of the dips in the field, almost falling. I somehow stayed on my feet and caught the winning point just in the endzone. 5-3 final. Everyone agreed it was a fun day. I dove and slid 4 or 5 times. The first time coated me in goose poop, but subsequent slides removed the poop.

Fun day.

AM 4 miles in 38 deg weather. 8-9 pace. Slow and easy.

Found out some company news yesterday. About 1/3 of our frisbee players are in GE Renewables and are in a building about 5-10 min from the main plant. Their lease is up and they will be moving to a different building significantly futher away. TBD the impact this will have on frisbee attendance. I sure hope it doesn't kill it.

Lunch 12 people, wet ground and misty/wet in the air, so the frisbee was wet the whole time. Unevenly divided teams- the best 3 throwers were all on the other team. My team could have done well but kept having bad throws and drops. So it was a massacre- 5-1 loss.

Lots of people today on a nice day, 70 deg and slight breeze. 17 people. My team forced some throws and had some bad throws. Tied 2-2 but lost 5-3. 8 people stuck around for a second game. Tied 2-2 when we had an ill-time dropped and immediately lost 3-2.

Am 8 slow miles on trail. 9-ish pace for most of it. 6 deer, no turkey.

PM- played parents vs kids for my 10 year old daughter's soccer practice. Parents won 4-2. I don't think we meant to score the last 2.

AM 4 xt miles as it was supposed to be cold and rainy at lunch, so no frisbee expected

Lunch- despite the weather, we decided to play, though on the second field to not tear up the grass. It was upper 40's, windy, rain/mist. 4v4. My team had a few bad breaks and a few bad throws (both teams did with the wind/rain) and were down 0-3. Fought back to 3-4, but lost 3-5. Could have gone either way. Lots of fun, had a good dive in the mud, too.

Lunch- busy day at work, but found a chance to break away at lunch. The relentless cold rain had eased up a bit so I didn't get too wet on GE trail. 2 people, 15 or so turkeys. I didn't feel great so was surprised to see the first mile tick off at 8:00 (I'm probably a bit faster running at noon than first thing in the morning), and I hovered around 7:50-8 the whole time. Then back to work for the rest of a long day, straight to daughter's choir concert, and finally home for dinner at 9 pm.

I was at home watching my 3 year old yesterday while my wife was out of town. No run. It's miserable weather, anyway. Right now it steady rain, windy, and 36 degrees. We are under a flood warning. It's rained almost 6 inches this week, most of that since Monday. It looks like it should be tapering off by mid-day today (finally). I'm at home again this morning as I'm going to elementary school for Thanksgiving lunch with 2 of my kids. Maybe I'll run after work.

PM- long day at work, lots of meetings and crazy workload. Finally left at 6 or so, did 1 loop on a muddy GE trail. Saw some eye reflections of deer.

AM- I didn't have to be at work till 9 but woke up at 5, and missed a run this week, so decided to run GE trail. Coldest run since last winter- 32 deg. 1 loop GE trail. Saw 6 deer, 2 coyotes (one who took similar path as me so I saw him 4 times over a mile), and 26 turkeys. I think that's the most turkeys ever. They were at the turnaround point, and included 1 tom, which is the first male I've seen in a year or so. Of course, he puffed up but I was 50 yards away so he didn't chase.

Lunch- some games are ugly, and some games are worse. Today was worse. Very muddy field, 14 people, lots of turnovers but especially lots of bad throws by my team.We threw it over a dozen time to Alex on the other team. It was terrible. The only good thing about my game was I didn't drop any. But it was ugly. I think we lost 5-1, maybe 5-2. Then we did game to 3, where my team had 6 people and other team had 5. I thought we were down 2-0 and lost 3-1, but the other team said it was 2-1 so we kept playing and, despite our best efforts to repeatedly throw it away, we did win 3-2. Ugly.

Frisbee- 17 people, my team had 2 subs. Nice temps, sunny, a little breezy from one endzone to the other. The other team was stacked with throwers/speed (they had Verdin, Benson, Kevin, Claire, Graham, Matt Page, Julian, Travis, my team was Matt Henry, Alex, Tom, Adrian, Scott, Clay, Dave, Draper, me). I quickly discovered that my throws were doing great today- I had a bunch of throws that snuck by the defense, almost everything was on target whether short or long, and only a couple bad throws. No drops, pretty good defense, too. My team was getting whupped during the warmup (I think the other team scored 6 of the first 7). We started playing better and won 5-2 at the end. It was so nice to be able to rely on my throws and feel like I played really well for the first time in 2 or 3 weeks. Fun day, though 2 subs is too many.

Lunch- in all the years of frisbee, there's never been a day-before-Thanksgiving day, but we had enough say they would come to play. I was at home but my wife and I both went. There were 3 kids and another wife there, too. 13 people. First game was tied 3-3 before my team lost 5-3, second game my team won 3-2, with Marci catching the winning point. Fun time. She said she enjoyed it more than expected and the people were nicer than expected. I played well again, pretty good throws.

no run Fri/Sat- a little under the weather. Played frisbee today. Very windy. 13 people, other team had sub. The wind made every throw and catch an adventure. For the game to 5, my team started with the wind at our back. We scored first, then scored into the wind. Then the other team scored into the wind, then with the wind. We traded points the rest of the way, always favoring the team with the wind... which means my team scored last, 5-4. Tom had the most amazing catch of my bad throw. Fun day. We hadn't played 9 points in a while. It took a while for all the points due to the wind.

Lunch run on a sunny, 40 deg day. Felt very slow and tired. My left neck has a very stiff, painful muscle so can't turn it much. It's been a few days now so I'm hoping it starts improving. Didn't move as slow as I felt. 21 turkey (or so- couldn't count exactly as they were in a big pack) and 1 deer. No people on the trail, even at lunch. Surprising, disappointing.

Cool, nice day for frisbee. 11 people so my team had the sub, unfortunately (I prefer to have no sub. It was especially bad today because I was the fastest on my team, so when I subbed out, my team couldn't match up with the other team). I was throwing very well today, plus had some fun long catches early on. For the game to 5, I was almost able to intercept the first point but Haley somehow caught it just as I got there (I wasn't covering her). Then we traded points all the way till the other team won 5-4. When it was 4-4, Tom had a nice run and I was throwing it long to him for the win, but Kevin blocked my throw. I hope it bruised his hand :) Fun day.

AM- it was 28 deg. I didn't wear my pants and only had 1 long sleeve layer on top. I should have had more. You're dressed properly when you are a bit cold the first 10 minutes but then warm up after that. I never warmed up. Cold, not enough clothes. Slow. 8 miles in just under 70 min. 7 deer, no turkeys or people.

16 people for frisbee. Cool, a little breezy, overcast and wet grass from morning rain. I generally played well. We traded points till 3-3, then my team scored 2 straight for the win. 10 people stuck around for another game, which my team won 3-0.
