I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos!   And I have the absolute best wife in the world.  And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!

Stayed up too late watching the broncos, so skipped the morning run. Besides, no need to go overboard with miles.

Lunch-11 miles listening to adventures from the marathon last weekend.

Sandy might dump 2-3 feet of snow in the mountains, which would sure make my race interesting this weekend.

Its gonna be a SkiMo race! :-)

I see that LeConte is already well on its way to getting ~3 feet of snow. Crazy.

Do they tend to cancel trail races for anything other than lightening? Or at all? I'm guessing snow might actually increase the number of entrants! "Shut in Ridge" sounds a bit . . . appropriate.

Jason- they can cancel them if the route in inaccesible for aid station workers, etc. Shut In might very well be affected- the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed due to snow, and that's where they set up all the aid stations and where the finish line is. We'll see what happens. No word yet.

Yes, the do cancel them for other things, too. Lightning, forest fires, blizzards, etc.
