Quick report-

45 miles of running on this

Across this terrain

While making up 8 minutes on the lead pack in 10 miles before passing them at mile 45, leads to some Dean time.

Awesome race, one of my best executed ever, over a very challenging course while racing great people.  What a fun day.

Nice work on the win Jon, looks like you made some great memories too. It must be a great feeling to win when you know you have done your best, executed, and laid it all out on the line. Congrats!

FANTASTIC! This is big for sure. Ultra times are always hard for me to calculate as doing well or not when I see them on the race reports, but that first place told me all I needed to know. Rest easy.

Congrats! Hope you make a full report and let us know the drama that happened in the last 6 mi!

Nice run Jon, congrats on the win!

That is just awesome, Jon! Making up 8 minutes in the last ten miles is just such a feat, as everyone feels so wretched at that point. Congratulations on winning!

Congrats! Great pics too.

Congrats. I saw you camped in third. Well executed first place finish! Plus, just in case there were any cobwebs....

From jtshad on Mon, Sep 30, 2013 at 10:04:45 from 141.221.191.225

Congrats on a strong and smart race. Awesome that you were able to run that well for that long on such a bad ankle. Hope it heals up quickly.

I'm with Jason...I don't know ultra times, but I know first place is good! Nice work. I also know that making up that much time in ten miles is legit...so good work Jon!

From Fritz on Mon, Sep 30, 2013 at 20:10:27 from 67.177.4.64

Great job Jon. Coming up on and passing guys in the woods with a few miles left must have been a lot of fun.

From Jon on Mon, Sep 30, 2013 at 21:10:42 from 107.203.52.135

Thanks, everyone. It was indeed fun to pass everyone right before the end of the race. And Dale, I was more than happy to allow them to sweep all (well, most) the cobwebs from the course.

Your ankle looks like a massive spider bite gone wrong. Yuck. Awesome action pics! Great job. Another win!
