PM- 7.5 miles with Paul on the Logan River trail.  Made the mistake of wearing my non-super cushioned trail shoes and discovered the bruise on my left foot is definitely NOT gone.  Very painful run- I'll have to stay off the trails for a while to make darn sure this foot gets better.

Good run Jon, what are your expectations for SGM? Keep yourself healty! I know running on those trails with you and Cody hammered my achilles and feet also. They are some hard miles. Keep up the good work.

Hopefully sub-2:30, Walter. What are you aiming for?

From walter on Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 15:06:24

I would love a 2:32 or in that area. Im not the best finisher in marathons so Im going to have to be a little more aggressive for my first half but not too aggressive. I think if I hit a 1:16-18 then I can hit it. It will be hard to run a faster 2nd half after hitting that goal. What do you think?

Did you get my email? I'm not sure if I got your address right... let me know if I need to send it again.

Dur... I should check MY emails! Sorry! :D

Walter- if you're aiming for 2:32, then a 1:16-1:18 first half sounds good (though I'm not an experienced SGM runner). But better to be on the slow end rather then faster than that, if you are off-pace.

yes I agree Jon, James did a real conservative start last year, I actually passed him up at about mile 6 and then at somewhere after mile 13 he poured it on to a 2:33! I would love to do that but when he passed me I was tired last year. I had a slow start I thought but Cody told me I blasted by him and then he caught me as I was giving the streets of St. George my carbo load dinner. lol
