Lunch- 7.5 easy miles with Jason, 600 ft climbing, in 58 min.

PM- 11.5 slow miles around Paris Mtn in 1:52 with 2200 ft climbing.  I caught a toe once and actually fell, a very rare occurance for me.  Left Achilles is extremely unhappy with me- I'll bag the trail runs for the next 2 days and do only flat stuff to let it rest of Saturday's long run, my last before the Bear.  Better to be healthy than injured.  Scheduled a massage for Saturday, too.

I hope the achilles starts feeling better soon. How is work treating you so far?

Work is good. Overwhelming, of course, trying to learn everything. But I think I'll really enjoy it.

My left Achilles hurt randomly today too. What did you do to me?!

Hopefully the massage will work out the kinks to get you to the Bear 100%!

My right achilles has been hurting since January. Daily stretching and calf raises have helped. I think it's just part of aging.

When are you coming to Logan. Should we plan a pre-Bear BBQ or some other get-together?

From Jason McK on Thu, Sep 09, 2010 at 12:44:47 from 63.255.173.99

Good luck recovering. Better healthy than injured - that's a good motto. I think my grandma's motto has always been "Better to keep the heart rate low - you don't know how many you get!" Of course she's not healthy, but she isn't injured either.

Paul- I'm flying in Thursday noonish, so will probably be getting ready for the race that evening. But some little get together would be nice, at least to see my crew/pacers. Maybe we can have everyone to my house- I'll have to talk to Marci.
