AM 8 around home. Then worked for home to watch the solar eclipse. We had totality here in Greenville, and it was really awesome. Unique sight, very beautiful. Seeing the corona was my favorite. It was not as dark as I thought it would be- the sky was purple and blue, not black, but you could see a few stars and planets. There were also strange-shaped shadows, shadow waves, and the diamond ring. Neat day, I'll definitely remember this one.

I didn't get that worked up about it beforehand but I have to admit, it was pretty cool.

Rob, did you go see totality?

From allie on Tue, Aug 22, 2017 at 09:55:07 from

cool to be in totality right at home. i'm glad you got to see it.

97% in atlanta -- i read beforehand that anything less than 100% is literally the difference between night and day. based on the totality pics/videos i've seen, that is correct. it was still very cool, eerie, and interesting, but it was just not the same experience.

regardless, a cool day across america -- pausing to observe, and togetherness.

100% was really cool, neat to be able to see the change in lighting (went dark), temp (20 degree drop) and the see the full corona, diamond ring and Bailey balls.

Very cool. I wasn't excited at first, but people got into it and I enjoyed watching it. Only about 65% or so here, but we had storms in the distance, so it did look very end of days.
