AM- 6 easy miles, 45:37.

PM- 89 degrees and hot in Logan when I ran at 5:30.  I ran to planet walk and did a whole bunch of laps on it, while my wife, mom, and 2 daughters walked along it.  First 2 miles were ~6:50 pace, then I slowed down to 7:10-7:35 due to the heat.  11 miles on the dot, 1:20:31, 7:19 avg.  38 miles already this week- I'm tired!

Hey man, I saw on the WBR meeting minutes that they indicate the top of Avon Pass may be muddy. Do you think it will be bad enough for trail running shoes or are you wearing your racing shoes (e.g. Tangents)?

From Jon on Tue, Jun 17, 2008 at 10:05:19

I was planning to wear trail shoes on that leg, anyways. It is a pretty rocky, uneven downhill and I would rather have the extra foot protection and traction from the trail shoes. Plus, the extra weight won't matter quite as much since it is downhill. So I'm doing trail shoes on first leg, racing shoes on the other two.

Thanks, that was what I was thinking of doing as well.

See you Friday, we should hit town around noonish, maybe we could hook up for lunch?

I will be getting a ride back with one of the vans from SLC (after dropping off my car in Midway)- not sure what time I'll be back. I'll let you know.

From Steve on Tue, Jun 17, 2008 at 13:56:16

I reserved a spot for you in Chad's van. He is leaving SLC at 2:00pm on Friday. If we can meet in Midway at 1:00 then that will give us plenty of time. Give me a call tomorrow or Thurs. at 810-625-3761.

Jon - we will be staying in Orem on Thurs night and then be up to Logan Friday early afternoon.

Jon, It is amazing the miles you are getting in with the new baby. Are you getting any sleep right now or are you just counting the night time feedings as training for WBR?

From Jon on Wed, Jun 18, 2008 at 08:51:50

What's sleep? Sleep is for weaklings...

From marci on Wed, Jun 18, 2008 at 18:34:41

What?? less sleep! i haven't seen you up once with the baby. :) Hey but if sleep is for "weaklings" then you can have her all night tonight.
