I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos!   And I have the absolute best wife in the world.  And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!

AM- 6 easy miles, 45:37.

PM- 89 degrees and hot in Logan when I ran at 5:30.  I ran to planet walk and did a whole bunch of laps on it, while my wife, mom, and 2 daughters walked along it.  First 2 miles were ~6:50 pace, then I slowed down to 7:10-7:35 due to the heat.  11 miles on the dot, 1:20:31, 7:19 avg.  38 miles already this week- I'm tired!

Hey man, I saw on the WBR meeting minutes that they indicate the top of Avon Pass may be muddy. Do you think it will be bad enough for trail running shoes or are you wearing your racing shoes (e.g. Tangents)?

I was planning to wear trail shoes on that leg, anyways. It is a pretty rocky, uneven downhill and I would rather have the extra foot protection and traction from the trail shoes. Plus, the extra weight won't matter quite as much since it is downhill. So I'm doing trail shoes on first leg, racing shoes on the other two.
