6 easy morning miles.  Temperature was a bit cool, but not too bad.  Knee hurt somewhat from yesterday's run, but was bearable.

PM- 6 easy miles.  Knee hurt fairly bad, and I definitely had DOMS in my quads from yesterday's run.  Took it easy to be ready for the long run tomorrow.

768- 6 miles (first run!)

It's not my fault! Would you want to wait till late afternoon each day before you could see your kid?

Where is the knee hurting?

From Jon on Sat, May 31, 2008 at 00:56:09

My right knee has been hurting for about 2 months now- on the inside. Started just below the kneecap, then quickly moved just to the whole inside edge of the kneecap, plus some pain in the surrounding area. Sore to the touch after a run. At first I thought it was just some inflammation and soreness from over use, but now I am not sure. It isn't getting better, but it isn't getting worse except right after hard runs.

I had some similar knee pain 2 years ago. I went to a pt just to make sure I wasn't going to injure myself more. He dianosed me with planker band syndrome (it has many names). It was basically inflamtion on the synovial (sp?) sheath that surrounds the knee. Anyway they can do tests to see what is going on . The knee is a hard one.

What is up with all of you guys getting injured all of the sudden?

From Jon on Sat, May 31, 2008 at 14:46:55

James, mine isn't really bad- I've been running with it without it getting worse for 2 months. Just lots of ice.

Josse- how do you treat planker band syndrome?

From josse on Sat, May 31, 2008 at 15:02:22

It is an inflammation problem so it is a matter of getting the inflammation down. RX by Josse- Ice after running, ice/heat 2-3 times a day, anti-inflammitories (I got a strong scrip but they were to hard on my tummy so I just did IB), and I would scrape the inside of my knees and the surrounding mucsles.

you are probably on the up side of it, I think it took a couple of months to fully go away.
