I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos!   And I have the absolute best wife in the world.  And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!

No run, crippled at home with back pain. Ouch. Just scheduled an hour massage for later today. I think it could really help.

No run, though I did spend most of the day working the aid station at Blind Pig 100 while my 2 oldest kids were running in the woods. We have 2 sick kids right now with lots of puking. Fun.

Lunch- 8. Took it a bit easy to see how my back was feeling. It felt pretty good for most of the run, just a bit sore at the end. Not too bad after.

Back was flaring up from yesterday's run, so I scheduled massage for tomorrow, biked for a while, and donated blood. Only 2 of those directly impact my back.

AM- did some biking. Another massage in the afternoon. The masseuse said my back was a mess with lots of huge knots/trigger points. Ouch.

Going backpacking with my girls Fri night. Hope the back doesn't hurt then.

Went backpacking with my 2 oldest. Had a great time- about 2.5 miles packing in, stayed at a lake. Pretty chilly and windy Sat morning, with windchill of 34. They did great, though.

PM- 10 miles with Seth at Paris Mtn. Felt a bit slow and sluggish today. Nice weather, though, and they added a boardwalk this weekend over the muddiest part.

AM- 8 in the morning. Nice temps, a bit windy. Listening to podcasts about Barkley and Austrian Economics (that's a bit of a mix- different podcasts, obviously). Run started a bit slow, only got a bit faster as it proceeded.

AM- 10. Kind of like yesterday morning, only a bit farther. I went on the GE trails for a while, turning around when I could see the turkeys ahead on the trail. I hate the tom turkey.

Lunch- well, I had a morning meeting that ran over so I couldn't run and was 20 minutes late to Ultimate. Fortunately, I convinced everyone to play 15 min extra. Still fun, if not as long as I hoped.

Lunch- 10.5 with the group. Felt very sluggish today. The heat probably didn't help- it was in the 80's today. Summer is coming. Tomorrow will be 89 deg F.

PM- PM with Seth and Aaron. It was the hottest day of the year, upper 80's, but cloudy so it actually wasn't terrible. I felt much better than yesterday.

Frisbee Friday on Thursday due to expected rain tomorrow. I couldn't run first as I was coming from Lasik evaluation (I'm thinking about it- anyone have any recommendations one way or the other?). Fun game, though too many people for our field- 7 vs 7

Lunch- Frisbee Friday. 5 v 6, I was on the team down a man, so even more running. Fun times.

AM- 14 on Georgia Rd loop. Started slow a sluggish around 8 min pace, gradually increased till last 2 miles were just under 14 min. 1:46. I don't think I've gone longer than 14 miles or 1:50 since Western States last June. Perfect weather for a run, mid-50's and a little breeze.

Lunch- 5 running then ultimate frisbee. My team was overmatched today and I was the only one with much speed/endurance, so I ended up running much more than usual. It was tough, plus hot. Felt good, lots of fun. I'm counting those as speedwork.

PM- Paris Mtn by myself as Barry bailed. It was hot, I was tired. More walking than usual, plus 2 sit breaks. Pretty quiet- I didn't see anyone for the first 70 min, then saw lots of people the remainder of the way. 10.5 miles in 1:50 or so.

This has been one of my busier weeks at work in a long time. I was at work from 6:50 am till 8:30 pm today, minus my lunch run. Time really goes quick all week when you are busy.

AM- beautiful weather for a run. 10.5 miles. First mile was 7:40, last was 7:10. 76 min, I think.

We bought tickets to go to India yesterday, leaving in October. My wife and I are going, along with our oldest daughter, while Marci's oldest sister babysits our kids.
