AM- 10. Kind of like yesterday morning, only a bit farther. I went on the GE trails for a while, turning around when I could see the turkeys ahead on the trail. I hate the tom turkey.

I saw a bunch of wild turkeys myself this past weekend. I did not develop a hatred for them however.

You've probably never had a huge male turkey chase you for a mile. Multiple times. Coming within 6 feet of you, ignoring any rocks or sticks lobbed at it. He once chased me off the trail, across the GE track, and halfway though a parking lot (dodging parked cars) until a pickup truck almost ran him over. Then he turned around and started chasing some guys walking on the track. It's chased quite a few people, and it's really big. This might change your mind.

I've run into lots of other turkeys without incident. It's unfortunate the only problem turkey is the one where I run the most.

You should arm yourself and escalate the conflict next time. Then bring it home for Thanksgiving.

They are not as good eating as I thought they would be. A bit darker than I imagined but perhaps I have been spoiled with white, store bought turkey meat for years.
