Quick report- ran the very enjoyable, surprisingly technical Black Mtn marathon today.  Lots of mud, rocky trails, some ice, and cold rain.  A good time was had by all.  Full report later (today?).  Finished 2nd place, pretty happy with that.  Hard to beat a nice trail marathon.

Update 6 weeks later- finally did a Race Report compilation, including for this race. It's all on my Greenshortsrunning blog.

Great race. 3:18 seems pretty impressive.I love Black Mountain. There's a Baptist conference center near there named Ridgecrest where I spent many a summer camp when I was a kid.

You could google Black Mountain College for an interesting history lesson.

Well done on the second place. I had a gander at the race website and it looks like a tough old course - too tough for a wuss like me:)
