I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos! And I have the absolute best wife in the world. And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!
Scrubbed today's run due to returning hip pain. Frustrating.

stupid hip, sorry to hear that.
keep with the exercises, don't give up. maybe you should give the minimal approach a try, at least for a few miles a week. maybe get a pair of five fingers. try running 3-4 miles in them and see how the hip feels. or come to the USU indoor track with me and run barefoot, I can get you in.

Yep, let it heal. Really, "they" say any training two weeks before a 100 does no help and can hurt. Two weeks should be plenty of time to heal that up if you take it easy. I bet after your first loop you will stop worrying about it because your something (a quad, a foot, etc. will hurt much more.) Let it heal. Taper is our friend! Enjoy the rest.

Yup, Davy, we're officially close enough that I'll stop worrying about training and focus on recovery. I'll do some easy, non-painful cross training.
But hearing all your talk about everything that will hurt gets me so excited for the race :) Actually not.
