Finally posted my Pinhoti 100 mile race report. Working on more posts, too.

AM- 12

Lunch- 9 more. Nice day for a run. Big group of guys- we started with 10, and still had 9 when we got back to GE after an hour. Seeing 9 guys running is an impressively big pack that you rarely see.  Kinda fun.

Nice report and thoughts on your race. First, let me ask, spider eyes?! As much as I like the "no pacers" idea, I think when I do my first 100 I will want a pacer. It's just such an unknown quantity to me that I'm a little too scared to do it on my own, even if all the pacer does is assure me the hallucinations I'm seeing are not real. (Wait, were those spider eyes real?) The worst is no food at the end. Thank goodness for the good soul who shared. Congrats on the podium finish!

I had pacers on my first 4 hundreds, and they can help, esp for new runners.

Yes, spider eyes. There are tons of spiders down here, and headlamps literally cause their eyes to glow. Kinda weird. I could see dozens at a time.
