I'm finding myself thinking more and more about the Barkley. Less than 4 weeks away, so time to get serious. Should be fun. How much fun, you ask? This much fun...

 That's last year's winner.

Chuckanut's no slouch, but it'll be a walk in the park next to the story that goes with that photo.

I went and checked the course yesterday, it's in pretty good shape save for a few trees over trail and more water than usual on the Long Lake stretch. But not too muddy, which is good, and still no snow. Krissy made some course changes that should help also, though the finish line won't be as pretty (changed from a park to a parking lot).

Good to hear. I don't think I told you, but I changed to the Fri 5:30 pm flight, and leaving Sunday around noon (I think). Looking forward to it- starting the taper on Thursday.

DOes it still have a 10k at the start and a 10k at the finish on bike trail?

Do you have to wrestle a bear at mile 30?

Did you see John Fegyveresi on the front page of Reddit? It was surreal, I am friends with him on facebook and then I saw someone had posted his Antarctica picture. I wish people understood the gravity of his and Brett's accomplishments. Jared of course too.

Barkleys! Man I can't wait to hear all about it!

Don't do it Jon - you'll destroy all that beautiful 5k speed:)

I'd never heard of the race, so I looked it up. Proper crazy stuff. 100 miles in a week is tough. 100 miles with all that climbing and other messy stuff in less than 60 hrs is just pure nuts.

Mind you, looking at your race schedule for this year, maybe you should give it a lash:)
